Norbulingka
In Tibet language Norbulingka means "JeweledGarden", located in the western suburbs of Lhasa, was built in 1751 during the reign of the seventh Dalai Lama. It was served as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama where they handled political affairs and practiced religious activities. Covering an area of 360,000 square meters, the park consists of three parts: the palace district, district in front of the palace and the forest district which take up about half of the park. The whole park possess 370 rooms of different sizes and lawns shaded by green trees and enclosed by various flowers. Norbulingka Park was added to the List of World Heritage as an extension of the Potala Palace in December 2001.
