Yellow River Scenic Area
Located in northwest of Zhengzhou City in Henan Province, the Yellow River Scenic Area embraces five scenic spots: the Five Dragons Peak, the Camel Mountain Range, the Yueshan Temple, the Stone Figures of Yandi and Huangdi, and the Ancient City of Liu Bang and Xiang Yu. Among them, the Five Dragons Peak is the central area.
Many ancient pavillons scatter on Five Dragons Peak. Among the pavilions, the Jimu Pavilion is a proper place to overlook the mighty Yellow River which has nourished Chinese for thousands of years. On Camel Moutain Range, the sculpture of Yu the Great is erected. Yu the Great is commemorated for his battle against floods. The Yueshan Temple contains a large number of pagodasand Stele Forest where 570 steles inscribed by well known well known calligraphers. The Stone Figures of Yandi and Huangdi face the Yellow River, with 18-meter-high heads and 2-meter-high bodies. Yandi and are legendary figures and generally regarded as the ancestors of the Chinese. Ancient City of Liu Bang and Xiang Yu contains historic battle site where Liu Bang (who later became Emperor Gauzu) defeated Xiang Yu to cement his rule in 202 B.C. as the first emperor of the Han Dynasty, where you will see vivid figures of horses and soldiers.
